Vacancy: Quantity Surveyor (Powerlines)

Minimum Requirements:
· BSc / BTech / National Diploma in Quantity Surveying
· Professional registration (SACQSP)
Experience:
· 5 years of Quantity Surveying experience on powerlines, transmission, or linear infrastructure projects
· Strong experience with BOQs, valuations, and cost reporting
· Exposure to EPC or utility-based projects preferred
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts
· Monitor project costs against approved budgets and report variances
· Prepare monthly cost reports, valuations, and financial summaries
· Manage change control, variations, and claims
· Measure and price BOQs for overhead transmission lines and related civil works
· Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts
· Assess subcontractor and supplier claims and certifications
· Re-measure works based on drawings, site instructions, and as-built data
· Assist with contract administration (FIDIC / NEC / GCC where applicable)
· Support procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
· Evaluate tenders, negotiate commercial terms, and recommend awards
· Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and commercial risk management
· Liaise closely with engineers, planners, site teams, and project managers
· Support dispute resolution, claims substantiation, and extensions of time
· Ensure accurate record-keeping of commercial documentation
· Contribute to project close-out and handover processes
· High-voltage overhead transmission lines (HV, EHV)
· Foundations, towers, stringing, and associated civil works
· Substations (advantageous but not essential)
· Cross-country / linear infrastructure projects
