Role Title: Maize Miller

Our client, a customer-preferred manufacturer, marketer, and distributor of maize and other diverse value-add products is looking to employ the services of a Maize Miller.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Trade Tested Miller Qualified as per GMF
  • Wide knowledge of milling Maize meal and Mabele
  • Working with systems
  • Own transport
  • Willingness to work shifts
  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Qualified Miller with extensive milling experience, milling mielies.
  • Fumigation and Grading experience
  • Overtime if and when necessary
  • Experience with PLC’s
  • Responsibilities will include but are not limited to achieving value drivers:
  • Management of mill (quality, extractions, milling gain, housekeeping, admin etc.)
  • Manage the downtime
  • Will be part of the Food Safety Management team and Safety team
  • Must be able to work and manage people in a production environment
  • Sampling and testing new material from transfer as per sampling procedure
  • Ensure conditioning is achieved
  • Comply to require milling divide and set/maintain the mill accordingly.
  • Communicate settings as per mandate for adjustments to the head miller/operations manager
  • Ensure full traceability of all products through the milling process
  • Ensure deep cleaning is performed as per schedule
  • Ensure all products are milled to specification
  • Ensure mix back stock is controlled using FIFO, infestation and quality
  • Ensure that products are packed out accordingly to packing and flushed as per flushing requirements, quality and weight specifications complied with
  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies procedures and CIPs
  • Ensure compliance with food safety requirements as per FSSC standards
  • Dust, Air, Spillage and water leakage-free plants must be achieved and maintained at all times correction action must be taken to ensure plants comply.
  • Management of measuring equipment
  • Optimum equipment efficiency achieved at all times- using the job card system
  • Ensure OPRPs are managed effectively
