The production accountant will be responsible for managing and tracking all financial aspects of a production process, including budgeting, cost control, payroll, vendor payments, and financial reporting, ensuring a project stays within budget by closely monitoring expenditures throughout the production cycle, often collaborating with production managers and department heads to make informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop detailed production budgets based on project requirements, including estimated costs for labor, materials, equipment, and location rentals.
Cost Tracking and Analysis:
Monitor actual expenses against the budget, identifying variances and analyzing cost drivers to identify potential cost-saving measures.
Payment Processing:
Oversee all vendor payments, ensuring invoices are accurate and processed timely.
Payroll Management:
Calculate and manage payroll for cast, crew, and production staff, including deductions and compliance with labor laws.
Financial Reporting:
Generate regular financial reports for production management, including daily/weekly cost breakdowns, cash flow projections, and variance analysis.
Production Accounting Software:
Utilize specialized production accounting software to track expenses, generate reports, and maintain accurate financial records.
Collaboration with Departments:
Work closely with production managers, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand production needs and ensure financial alignment.
Compliance and Auditing:
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations, preparing for and supporting audits as needed.
Requirements:
5 Years’ experience within similar position
FMCG / Manufacturing industry experience (advantage)
Detailed understanding of inventory control / management systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skill
B.Comm Accounting Qualification
MS Office computer knowledge
Driver’s License
