Overview:
We are currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join our client in Gauteng. This role is responsible for the full technical and operational management of facilities within an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) environment.
The successful candidate will ensure that all assets and sites are maintained in line with legislative requirements, contractual obligations, and best practice standards. This role also focuses on optimising service delivery, managing contractor performance, and driving operational efficiency across multiple sites.
Requirements:
• BTech or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior facilities or technical management role
• Proven experience managing technical operations across multiple sites
• Strong background in contract and supplier management
• Experience in quality assurance and compliance frameworks
• Strong understanding of facilities and technical management within production and commercial environments
• Solid knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and life safety systems
• Good understanding of contract management and service level agreements
• Strong grasp of business systems and operational interdependencies
• High level of accountability and administrative accuracy
• Ability to operate in complex and ambiguous environments
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage maintenance systems across the portfolio, ensuring full SLA compliance
• Ensure effective execution of planned, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance
• Drive compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Manage technical teams and subcontractors to ensure high performance and service delivery
• Take ownership of budgeting, cost control, and financial performance within the portfolio
• Compile and present technical reports, dashboards, and management submissions
• Manage supplier and contractor relationships, including SLA and KPI performance tracking
• Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks across all sites
• Ensure optimal management and longevity of client assets
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Participate in standby duties, after-hours support, and emergency response when required
