Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee electrical infrastructure projects from planning through to final commissioning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple live projects, coordinating contractors, ensuring compliance with electrical and safety standards, maintaining strong client relationships, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
This role is ideal for a technically strong project manager with experience in electrical installations, renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, or industrial electrical projects.
Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing electrical installation projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple project sites simultaneously.
• Experience coordinating contractors and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of project budgeting and cost control.
• Ability to interpret:
o Electrical drawings
o Single-line diagrams
o Cable schedules
o Technical specifications
• Knowledge of:
o Electrical installations
o OHS Act
o Electrical safety regulations
o Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using project management software such as Monday.com or similar.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel extensively to client sites across Southern Africa.
Advantageous:
• Experience with EV charging infrastructure.
• Solar PV installation project experience.
• Professional registration with ECSA (or actively working towards registration).
• Experience in renewable energy or industrial electrical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate, and deliver EV charging, solar installation, electrical upgrade, maintenance, and repair projects.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across various client sites.
• Develop project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
• Coordinate site visits, commissioning, testing, and project handovers.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including:
o Electrical drawings
o Cable layouts
o Method statements
o Shutdown procedures
o Commissioning documentation
• Source and evaluate quotations from contractors and suppliers. • Award work based on quality, compliance, and commercial value.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure workmanship meets required standards.
• Coordinate electricians and subcontractors throughout project execution.
• Monitor project expenditure and proactively identify potential budget overruns.
• Ensure full compliance with:
o Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
o Electrical regulations and standards
o Company safety policies and procedures
• Implement and monitor safe isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Conduct safety briefings and oversee site compliance.
• Train Emergency Isolation Personnel where required.
• Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain all safety documentation and compliance records.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
• Provide regular progress updates and manage client expectations.
• Attend client meetings and site inspections.
• Review and manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Coordinate contractor and client onboarding documentation.
• Lead and support field technicians and electricians.
• Allocate resources effectively across multiple projects.
• Prepare weekly project progress reports.
• Report on project risks, staffing requirements, and project performance.
• Maintain accurate project tracking using company systems such as Monday.com.
