Job Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Mould Maker (Toolmaker) to join their manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, repairing, modifying, and maintaining plastic injection moulds to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
Minimum Requirements:
• Qualified Toolmaker / Mould Maker (Trade Test advantageous)
• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in plastic injection mould manufacturing
• Experience working in a plastic injection moulding environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Strong knowledge of mould construction and assembly
• Experience with conventional machining equipment
• Valid driver’s licence is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
• Manufacture new plastic injection moulds from engineering drawings.
• Repair, modify and maintain existing moulds.
• Assemble and fit mould components accurately.
• Strip, inspect and rebuild moulds.
• Diagnose mould faults and perform preventative maintenance.
• Manufacture and fit mould components including:
o Pins
o Springs
o Inserts
o Core components
• Ensure moulds are production-ready with minimal downtime.
• Perform precision fitting and finishing of mould components.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve tooling issues.
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards.
