Our client, a consulting engineering company, is seeking an experienced Project Controller to support a large-scale Eskom project based at MegaWatt Park.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting across multiple Eskom divisions, with a strong focus on the rollout and replacement of conventional electricity meters with Smart Meter technology.
Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma, BTech, or Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in a Project Controller, Project Coordinator, or Project Controls role
• Strong project planning and reporting capabilities
• Experience in utility, power, electrical infrastructure, or engineering projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Previous Eskom project experience
• Exposure to Transmission, Distribution, Metering, or SCADA environments
• Experience with Smart Meter implementation projects
• Knowledge of project management methodologies and project control processes
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and control project schedules, milestones, and deliverables
• Coordinate project activities across multiple workstreams, including:
o Transmission
o Distribution
o Metering
o SCADA systems
• Track project progress and prepare regular status reports for stakeholders
• Assist with project planning, resource allocation, and risk management
• Ensure compliance with Eskom project standards and procedures
• Manage project documentation, reporting, and administrative functions
• Liaise with engineers, contractors, project managers, and Eskom representatives
• Support successful implementation of Smart Meter deployment initiatives
• Monitor budgets, timelines, and project performance indicators
