Our client, a leading South African engineering and construction company specializing in electrical and infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager to lead site-based project execution across power, transmission, rail, mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Minimum Requirements:
* Diploma or Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
* Professional Construction Manager (Pr.CM) registration preferred.
* Minimum 10 years’ construction/project execution experience.
* Minimum 5 years in a senior site leadership role.
* Strong experience managing large multidisciplinary construction projects.
* Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and/or JBCC contracts.
* Experience delivering projects within scope, budget, schedule, quality and SHEQ requirements.
* Strong stakeholder, subcontractor and contractor management experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all site-based construction activities and project execution.
* Manage project delivery against scope, schedule, budget, quality, SHEQ and ISO requirements.
* Coordinate multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
* Drive construction planning, execution, reporting and performance monitoring.
* Manage project risks, delays, recovery plans and corrective actions.
* Oversee resource planning, plant, equipment and material utilization.
* Maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.
* Support commercial, contractual and financial project controls.
* Lead and develop high-performing site teams.
Knowledge Required:
* Construction methodologies and site operations.
* Project controls, planning and scheduling.
* Contract administration and commercial management.
* OHS Act, Construction Regulations and Environmental Legislation
* Microsoft Office, MS Project, Candy and related project systems.
Competencies:
* Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong commercial awareness.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
* Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
Advantageous:
* Eskom Authorizations.
* Rail, transmission line or substation experience.
* Power generation, mining, industrial or infrastructure project experience.
* Experience with EPC/EPCM projects.
