Vacancy: Welding Coordinator
Area: Kansanshi Mine Site, Solwezi, Zambia

Duration: Minimum 2-year contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a general Welder position. Applicants must have a minimum of 5–8 years’ structural welding experience on heavy mining equipment, coded welding certification (minimum 4G), and at least 3 years’ supervisory or technical advisory experience. About Our Client:
Our client is a leading multinational supplier of construction, mining, and earthmoving equipment, supporting major mining and industrial operations globally.

Purpose of the Role:
To coordinate and oversee structural welding activities on heavy mining equipment while ensuring compliance with OEM standards, welding procedures, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and supervise welding activities.
· Provide technical guidance on welding repairs and procedures.
· Ensure compliance with WPS, PQR, OEM, and quality standards.
· Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Investigate welding defects and implement corrective actions.
· Coordinate inspections and NDT activities.
· Support client engagements and technical discussions.
· Maintain welding documentation and certification records.
· Ensure compliance with HSE requirements.
· Mentor and develop welding personnel.

Minimum Requirements:
· Advanced Welding Certificate (Level 5 or equivalent).
· Valid coded welding certification (minimum 4G; 6G advantageous).
· 5–8 years’ structural welding experience on heavy equipment.
· Minimum 3 years’ supervisory or technical advisory experience.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Mining or heavy industry experience.

Advantageous:
· CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent Welding Inspector certification.
· International Welding Coordinator (IWC) certification.
